corona virus update
Kookaburra Hideaway regarding the Corona Virus as of 25th March 2020.
As announced by the Government last night, there have been further restrictions put in place that will affect the wedding industry.
Weddings are now only permitted for 5 persons. The marrying couple, the Celebrant or Priest and 2 witnesses. Considering what is going on in the rest of the world, this was only to be expected.
We have been in touch with couples getting married over the next 3 months and I am pleased to say that all couples have decided to postpone their celebrations to a future date, be it later this year, or next year.
This is an enormous help to the wedding industry, as it will keep us in business to enable us to keep on hosting beautiful weddings in the future. Thankyou very much for your support and giving us he opportunity to work with you find a solution.
Some couples have decided to have a small 5 persons ceremony that complies with the law on the day of their original wedding and postpone their wedding reception at later date. I (Val) is happy to perform a commitment ceremony in the same style as your original wedding, prior to your reception and hopefully any other Celebrant you have booked will do the same. If not I will offer my services free of charge.
So… here are the options for couples who have booked weddings with us in 2020 and this will be on a rolling basis and subject to complying with Government regulations should anything change.
1. Postpone everything – Get a free night at Kookaburra Hideaway and Goodies for your wedding.
Postpone both your ceremony and wedding to a future date based on your current wedding pricing (midweek or weekend), for up to 2 years hence. There will be no extra charge and as a thankyou from us we will give you a free weekday or weekend nights accommodation at Kookaburra Hideaway based on your original booking, for up to 12 persons. We will also give you 6 bottles of bubbles to celebrate with and a choice of free aisle runner, tea/coffee station for your wedding.
2. Marry now and Party Later Get a free night at Kookaburra Hideaway and Goodies for your wedding, plus free Commitment Ceremony for your future date.
Have an elopement style ceremony on the date of your original booking with 5 persons maximum as per government regulations and save your celebration to a future date when all your invited guests can attend. Elopement Ceremony to be performed by Val Haydon or your original Celebrant and (Val) will be happy to perform a commitment ceremony free of charge for you with everyone in their bridal attire for your postponed Wedding Reception…or, if you are using a different Celebrant you are welcome to use them.
As with option 1 there will be no extra charge for moving your wedding to a future date up to 2 years in the advance based on your current booking season and as a thankyou from us we will give you a free weekday or weekend nights accommodation at Kookaburra Hideaway based on your original booking (midweek or weekend) for up to 12 persons. We will also give you 6 bottles of bubbles to celebrate with and a choice of free aisle runner, tea/coffee station for your wedding.
3. Leave your Wedding as it is... If you are getting married in 2021 then all of this should be behind us... But, if you are at all concerned then please contact us so that we can work with you to reassure you.
As I have said in previous communications these are difficult and unprecedented times…
Don’t let this beat you…
Marriage is all about a whole lifetime together… so postponing your wedding, or altering the sequence of events won’t be the end of the world.
Love has no boundaries… The most important thing is that couple who love one another are able to show their love in whatever way they can and that we can make it special..
In 3-6 months time all of this may well be behind us, but in the meantime we will do anything we can for you to have your perfect day.. even if it comes in stages…
Thankyou for sticking by us… We won’t let you down.
