Covid 19 Update
Kookaburra Hideaway and Wedding Shed regarding the Corona Virus as of December 7th 2020
The 2sqm rule will be expanded and venue caps will be removed under a major easing of restrictions, as NSW continues to record zero cases of community transmission. Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the timing is right to ease restrictions and replace the 4sqm rule with the 2sqm rule, except at gyms and nightclubs.
On Monday, 7 December 2020, the NSW Government will ease the following restrictions
Venues including hospitality venues, retail and places of worship:
1 person per 2sqm (with 25 people permitted before the rule applies).
up to 50 people indoors
up to 50 performers indoors, no maximum cap outdoors
advice is for congregation/audience to continue wearing masks if singing.
Under the changes, maximum capacity caps will be removed subject to the 2sqm rule for:
bookings at hospitality venues
Wedding services are no longer subject to separate limits, with the exception of a wedding at a place of residence, which can have the greater of 20 people or one person per 4 square metres of space (this is also subject to change, however we are waiting for guidelines)
People attending will be required to provide their name and contact details so that they can be used for contact tracing.
All wedding guests, suppliers and staff must make a health declaration prior to attending a wedding at Kookaburra Hideaway, failure to do so may result in not being able to attend
Anyone with Covid symptoms will not be allowed to attend and should seek medical advice
All vendors (Including us) must provide us with their Covid 19 Safety Plan - Click here to read ours.
Precautions and considerations we are incorporating into our wedding planning.
If you want to have dancing at the wedding, ensure this is restricted to 50 persons maximum.
Make sure to choose a venue that has a dancefloor area with enough space (Kookaburra Hideaway is a very large venue with outdoor/indoor components.
Think about strategies to avoid crowding on the dancefloor and other areas such as avoiding or modifying rituals like throwing the bouquet or the Hora.
Ensure people do not take alcoholic drinks onto the dancefloor
All weddings/functions must have a start and finish time with all patrons off premises at the agreed end time.
Where it is a restriction or condition of the current public health order, a person who is required to record information must:
record and keep the name and contact details (either a phone number or email address) of every person including staff, customers and contractors, entering their premises for a period of at least 28 days
ensure the information recorded is stored confidentially and securely and only used for the purpose of tracing COVID-19 infections
on request, provide the information to the Chief Health Officer.

As I have said in previous communications these are difficult and unprecedented times…
Marriage is all about a whole lifetime together… so postponing your wedding, or altering the sequence of events won’t be the end of the world.
Love has no boundaries… The most important thing is that couple who love one another are able to show their love in whatever way they can and that we can make it special..
In 3-6 months time all of this may well be behind us, but in the meantime we will do anything we can for you to have your perfect day.. even if it comes in stages…
Thankyou for sticking by us… We won’t let you down.
